The Friends of Big Canoe Creek is a grass-roots organization formed in 2008 to coordinate efforts to preserve and protect the Big Canoe Creek watershed through community education and participation. In addition to its quarterly meetings, the group sponsors periodic educational, recreational and community-service activities such as guest speakers, films, rain barrel workshops, float trips, and creek cleanups.
